AMBER M. HALL

Welcome!

My name is Amber, and I currently reside in the Bay Area. I've had quite a few experiences that drew me to programming after an almost eight-year run as a operations manager and digital marketing strategist/analyst. Primarily, my undergraduate program in Technical and Scientific Communication forced me to look at technical concepts deeper and eventually exposed me to programming. I learned JavaScript, HTML, and CSS independently and took on opportunities to use my skills immediately. A year later, I went through an internal technical program at Red Ventures called the Internal Tech Academy. I spent eight months teaching myself everything from AWS to Docker, SQL, Go, and much more - it was intense, but I enjoyed every minute of it.

I’m deeply interested in Ethical AI, the intersection of art and programming (I’m obsessed with p5.js), and Full-Stack web development. I mostly eat, sleep, and dream JavaScript, but I have a fondness for Go and a drive to continue learning Python.

Outside of programming, I love to DJ (mostly house and Afrobeats), take photos with my a6000 or draw when I feel less outdoorsy, and write (currently working on a children's book!).
